We can’t believe it’s been a whole year since we wrote our “bling that’s hot in the villa” blog post for 2018 Love Island, but it’s that time again! Our evening plans no longer exist without the promise of a TV being around at 9pm, and the group chats are pinging every ten seconds with opinions on all the islanders moves.
The style has been on point this year, and we have obviously taken a huge interest in the jewellery the gorgeous ladies (and Michael) have been wearing this season. There’s been an array of hoops, as we predicted, dainty necklaces and shell jewellery galore. Here are some top pieces we think are essential to get the Love Island look this year.
We haven’t seen a huge amount of necklace action yet this season, but Molly Mae, Anna & Amber do seem to always have at least one necklace on. Molly Mae goes for a classic gold bar necklace (one of our personal favourites), whereas Anna goes for what looks like an evil eye shaped pendant, and Amber is rocking her large cross pendant everyday.
We’ve lost count of how many pairs of earrings Amy has worn so far this season, but she does seem to be keen on a large pair of hoops or some double sided pearl studs. Pearls are still a massive trend, so we’re totally not surprised to see these hanging around in the villa. ITV also release some of the selfies that the Islanders have taken throughout the week, and in one picture of Amy and Curtis, she was wearing a gorgeous pair of blue stone earrings which are similar to our Aqua CZ Stud Earrings!
We are big fans of Yewande here, and she loves a sophisticated ball stud. We’ve seen her in smaller ball studs and larger ones too, but it seems like larger gold ones are her go-to. They are a great everyday staple piece, perfect for wearing to work.
Molly Mae is always switching up her earrings, and tends to go for more statement pieces, like a pair of bar & circle drop studs or chunky hoops. We are big hoop lovers here at jewellerybox, they’re super versatile and can change the vibe of any outfit.
Short-term islander Elma was one of our favourites, and ever since the day she walked in she was wearing some large crystal studs. These are perfect for achieving a glamorous look on a budget. *still not over her early departure*
There definitely hasn’t been much bracelet action in the villa, but Amber was wearing a white beaded one early on in the season which looked similar to our white freshwater pearl bracelet. In terms of rings, we have only spotted Molly Mae rocking one – a dainty little silver wishbone ring. This style of ring works great when stacked with others, but Molly Mae seems to be wearing it just on its own for a more minimal look.
New girl Arabella has come in and created a little bit of drama (poor Yewande), but we have to say we are a big fan of her jewellery! She’s been layering up plenty of gold necklaces, and also stacks a few hoops in her ears. We particularly noticed some star charm hoops which look almost identical to ours, and a dainty gold choker with small bead detailing which we have a perfect match for.
Post-season update!
Well, things certainly changed in the villa since we wrote this blog post – ahh the good old times when Michael and Amber were together and Curtis was still with Amy – not that we’re complaining, Greg and Amber are perfect. We thought we would make one last addition to this blog post, and it’s a piece that needs no explanation…
