Are you shopping for a bangle for yourself or a loved one? Our helpful guide will walk you through finding the right bangle size for you.

There are 3 ways to measure bangle size:

1. Measure your hand circumference to get the right-sized closed bangle

If you’re looking at buying a closed bangle, e.g. one without a hinge or without an opening, you will need to measure the circumference of your hand to ensure that the bangle you are purchasing will be big enough to slide over your hand. For this, you will need a measuring tape.

  • Tuck your thumb into the palm of your hand, in the position it would be in if you were to be putting on your bangle
  • Get your measuring tape and wrap it around the knuckles, including the thumb knuckle. Take note of where the tape measure overlaps, this indicates your hand circumference
  • When buying your bangle, ensure that the circumference of the bangle is bigger than your hand circumference

2. Measure your wrist for cuff styles, hinged bangles, or open bangles

For open or hinged bangles, you will simply need to measure the circumference of your wrist to determine which bangle size you require.

  • Wrap a tape measure around your wrist, where you would like your bangle to sit, make sure you do not have the tape measure too tight
  • Take note of where the tape measure overlaps, this indicates the circumference of your wrist
  • When buying your bangle, ensure that the circumference of the bangle is the same as your wrist measurement

3. Measure a bangle that fits you to find its diameter

If you’ve already got a bangle in your possession that you know fits you, you can measure its internal diameter

  • Placing a ruler or tape measure across the middle of the inside of the bangle. This will give an idea of the bangle diameter size you need.
