Personalised Jewellery - Your Questions Answered

What can I have engraved on my jewellery? +

Names, dates, initials, short messages, meaningful quotes — if it fits, we can engrave it. On each product page you'll see an 'Add Personalisation' button where you can choose from a range of fonts and enter your text. We also offer monogram designs for 2–3 characters if you're after something a bit more decorative.

Can you engrave images like fingerprints or logos? +

Yes — our laser engraving machines can handle fingerprints, handprints, logos, simple line drawings and other custom artwork. Image engraving starts from £20 depending on complexity. Drop us an email at hello@jewellerybox.co.uk with your image and we'll let you know what's possible.

How is the engraving done? +

All our engraving is carried out in-house at our London studio by our professional jewellery team. We use laser engraving machines which give a deep, precise and long-lasting finish on both sterling silver and 9ct gold. Because everything is done under one roof, we can dispatch personalised orders the same day if placed before 4pm on a weekday.

Can I return personalised or engraved jewellery? +

Because personalised items are made to order, we're unable to accept returns on them unless they arrive faulty or the engraving is incorrect. We'd always recommend double-checking your spelling and any dates before submitting your order. If something doesn't look right when it arrives, get in touch and we'll sort it out.

What types of jewellery can be personalised? +

We offer engraving across a wide range of jewellery including necklaces, bangles, bracelets, lockets, charms and rings. If a product can be personalised, you'll see the 'Add Personalisation' button on its page. For something truly bespoke — like a custom-cut name necklace or a handprint pendant — take a look at our Made by jewellerybox collection.

What does Sterling Silver mean? +

Sterling silver is 92.5% silver - it is arguably the best composition of silver for jewellery making because it is a lot more durable and harder than pure silver, which is a very soft metal.

You may see .925 mentioned or stamped on some pieces, this refers to the 92.5% silver in the item.

The remaining 7.5% is usually made up of copper, zinc and other metals.

What does Recycled Metal mean? +

When we say our items are made from Recycled metal, this is metal (Sterling Silver and 9ct Gold) that has been melted down and made into our products. The products themselves have not been worn and are all brand new.

This is more environmentally friendly than mining for new metal and reduces the amount of labour involved in creating our jewellery Not all our products are made from recycled metal yet, but most are. We are working towards increasing this number

How long does shipping take? +

The following times refer to UK shipping:

If you choose next day shipping and order before 4pm Monday To Friday, then you will receive your item the next day.

Tracked 24 usually takes 24-48 hours, Tracked 48 (Free Shipping, when you spend £30) takes 48-72 hours. These are typical estimates.

If you need the item for a wedding or event in a few days, we highly recommend choosing Next Day shipping to avoid disappointment!
