New Year, new jewellery

Anyone else use the new year as an excuse to refresh and restock their wardrobe? As well as the occasional sale splurge (pretty printed dresses and oversized jackets come my way), I’ve been enjoying scouting out some affordable gold dipped jewellery to add a subtle luxe feel to my outfits.

Seeing as you’re reading this post, you probably already know how great we are for affordable pieces that look and feel super luxe, so when it comes to selecting some gold dipped pieces, we are definitely the place to go.

If, like me, you like to switch up your jewellery lots, then buying a few affordable gold dipped pieces is a far better way to get the look for less. When it comes to wearing gold jewellery, I think the metal works well with multiple layered necklaces and stacked rings.

My top picks

So, let’s get into my gold dipped picks and why I love each piece so much. I’ve picked three necklaces that I think layer really well together and a pair of earrings that I’ve been lusting over recently:

Gold dipped sterling silver stars 18 inch necklace Firstly, how gorgeous is this necklace? I love anything with stars on it (especially, jewellery because I think they make each piece look delicate and eye-catching) so of course this is one of my picks. The design of this also makes it really easy to layer, so it’s great for adding to your gold jewellery collection and layering with more statement pieces.

Yellow gold dipped sterling silver multiple round circle disc charms necklaceAgain, I think this is a great piece for layering, and I really love how delicate it feels. This is one I feel I’ll get more wear out of during summer. It would look amazing paired simply with a bikini for a hint of gold.

Yellow gold dipped sterling silver multi double layer round disc horn crescent pendant necklaceIf you’re not confident in layering up necklaces yourself, this one comes as a preset pair, so it’s easy to wear with any outfit! I love the combination of a round disk and horn crescent, I think it looks really pretty and works really well with a simple white shirt and high waisted jeans.

Yellow gold dipped sterling silver & 4mm green crystal ball charm hoop earringsI’m a sucker for a pretty pair of earrings, and aren’t these just the prettiest pair you’ve ever seen? The great thing about a delicate, subtle pair of earrings are that they will go with basically any and every outfit. I love the hint of forest green in these earrings and I think it goes beautifully with the gold.

gold dipped sterling silver star charm huggie hoop earrings Ever since these came into stock, the internet has gone wild for them! They look way more expensive than their under £10 price tag, so it’s not hard to see why.

Why gold dipped jewellery is good

I’ve kind of already mentioned some benefits of gold dipped jewellery, but let’s bullet point a couple just to make them clear!

  • Gold dipped jewellery is affordable – I love how affordable gold dipped jewellery is (you can get necklaces for £12-16 and earrings for around £7) because it means you can get yourself a few pieces to mix and match as you wish, and you still get the luxurious look of 9ct Gold.
  • Gold dipped jewellery layers and stacks well – Personally, I like to layer and stack my jewellery for maximum impact. Layered gold dipped necklaces look amazing with an oversized shirt and jeans and stacked rings are always a good idea.
