Description
A traditional Irish design, symbolising love, loyalty and friendship; the Claddagh originated from a small fishing village in Galway and is now recognisable the world over. The design features two hands wrapped around a heart, along with a crown. The crown represents loyalty, the heart is love (of course!) and the two hands signify friendship. Claddagh is a small village near Galway city and this design almost certainly came from near this area. The name Claddagh comes from the Irish An Cladach, meaning 'stoney shore'. The design is traditionally part of a ring (and was used to show if you were single or taken!), but these 9ct gold earrings are a great way to symbolise Irish culture, love, friendship and loyalty. The set means you have the both hoops and studs; the studs feature the Andralok style fastening, and the hoops are in the Creole style. They are the ideal accessory for an Irish or Celtic wedding - or a just trip to the Emerald Isle.
