Sleeper Earrings

Sleeper earrings are small, lightweight hoop earrings designed to be worn day and night — including while you sleep, hence the name. They're typically the first pair you'd wear after a new piercing to keep the hole open while it heals. Because they're so light and sit close to the ear, you'll barely notice they're there.

That's exactly what they're designed for. Sleepers keep your piercing open while it heals without causing discomfort at night. We'd recommend waiting until your piercer says it's safe to swap from the initial jewellery they fitted — typically 6–8 weeks for lobes. Once you switch, a sterling silver or 9ct gold sleeper is an ideal choice because both metals are hypoallergenic and kind to healing skin.

Absolutely. While they're called sleepers, plenty of people wear them as their go-to everyday earring. Their small, clean look goes with everything, and they're popular for second and third piercings where you want something understated. We stock plain styles for a minimal look as well as crystal and textured designs if you want a bit more sparkle.

We measure the external diameter of hoops - the distance from one side to the other from outside to outside.

When we describe a hoop as being '10mm' - we mean the external diameter is 10mm. You can check on a ruler or tape measure what that looks like in real life. 10mm = 1cm.

We also provide the width of the metal part of the hoop itself in most cases. Check the 'Specifications' tab on the product page to find this. This tells you how thick the hoops are.

Sterling silver is 92.5% silver - it is arguably the best composition of silver for jewellery making because it is a lot more durable and harder than pure silver, which is a very soft metal.

You may see .925 mentioned or stamped on some pieces, this refers to the 92.5% silver in the item.

The remaining 7.5% is usually made up of copper, zinc and other metals.

Yes - we offer two main levels of gift wrapping. In order to keep costs to you down, most of our earrings come in an envelope as standard. You can see this on the product page.

You can upgrade most earrings to come in a branded giftbox for a small fee.

You can also choose to add a branded giftbag, which comes with a polishing cloth at checkout. These can be combined together (box + giftbag) or used on their own.

If you choose next day shipping and order before 4pm Monday To Friday, then you will receive your item the next day.

Tracked 24 usually takes 24-48 hours, Tracked 48 (Free Shipping, when you spend £30) takes 48-72 hours. These are typical estimates.
